Microsoft Surface update addresses Windows RT performance and security

Microsoft is sending out it’s first monthly patch to Surface RT tablets today. The update addresses performance, but does not seem to fix the audio bugs we talked about last week. The Verge reports that apps launch around 2 seconds faster than before the update, and performance in general seems to be better all around. The update also addresses two security issues in Windows RT.

You can check Windows Update in the settings app to see if the update is ready for you.

2 seconds is a lot of time when you consider it shouldn’t take too long for an app to open, as it is. Good news!
