Earlier today we posted about a major bug in Windows Phone 8 that is caused by Gmail. The cause seems to be related to Google’s implementation of IMAP2. What exactly does that mean for you? Well, Google can change things on their end and really screw up your phone (as we found out). Luckily there is a very simple solution.
- Go to email+accounts and remove your Google account. If you can’t do that because it’s constantly syncing put the phone in airplane mode first.
- Add a new account.
- Select “Advanced Setup.”
- Enter your Gmail credentials.
- Select “Exchange ActiveSync”
- Leave “Domain” blank.
- Put “m.google.com” into server.
