As a Google Voice user the app I rely on the most is MetroTalk, so when the opportunity arose to get an early look at the Windows Phone 8 version arose I jumped on it. Being a Google Voice user on WP7 leaves a lot to be desired, but with the announcement of WP8 I was optimistic it would get better. I was right.
MetroTalk for Windows Phone 8 puts the experience right up there with the default messaging app. Fast resume makes seeing your inbox an almost instantaneous action. Notifications on the lockscreen are a much welcomed addition. No longer do you need to check your start screen for notifications. They also fixed pinning the call/text page to the start screen which wasn’t working properly on WP8.
