HTC confirms the Windows Phone 8S will not come to the U.S.

We haven’t heard much about the HTC 8S since it was announced a couple months ago. The 8S is a slightly lower spec’d version of the 8X that comes in some crazier color combinations. So where is it? Speculation suggested that the 8S was not made for the U.S., and HTC has finally confirmed that.

“The Windows Phone 8X by HTC is our signature Windows Phone available at AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless in the U.S. With our focus on the Windows Phone 8X by HTC, the Windows Phone 8S is not currently planned for distribution in the U.S. market.”

The 8X is not overly expensive, and there are other good mid-range options here in the U.S. already. HTC probably won’t be losing out on too many sales. Was anyone waiting for this phone?

I mean I don’t think we need them. Current phones are already very affordable. The Windows Phone 8X is not too expensive.
