Miss Bing Maps on your Lumia device? There is an app for that.

If you have a Lumia device you know that Bing Maps is replaced by Nokia Maps. Most of the time this is a good thing, but there are some occasionas when you might be wishing for Bing Maps back. For example, some users report that traffic information in Nokia Maps is not that great. Unfortunately if you want to use Bing Maps in these situations you’ll find out that Nokia has removed them completely.

The process is as simple as downloading an app from the Store. Download it from the link below and you will have Bing Maps back in action, along side Nokia maps. With Bing and Nokia maps you will never, ever be lost. Hopefully.

It’s weird to see manufacturers have this kind of power. I always saw Windows Phone 8 as some kind of untouchable platform. You can develop and manufacture, but I thought the OS had to be left untouched. I mean, come on! It’s like if an Android manufacturer got rid of Google Maps. How can Nokia be allowed to do this? They should just have to pre-install their own app and let people choose between both.
