Photosynth for Windows Phone 8 is in final testing

When Microsoft showed off the Lens feature in Windows Phone 8 one of the apps they promised was Photosynth. Photosynth is a Microsoft-owned 360 degree panorama app. It’s been over a month since Microsoft said Photosynth was coming to Windows Phone 8, yet we still don’t have it.

The Photosynth Team has taken to Twitter to announce that the app is in final testing. They are currently verifying that it works on WP8 devices. Frankly, it’s shocking how slow Microsoft is at releasing their own apps. Photosynth is something that should have been done and in the Store for new WP8 users to play with. Lens is a great feature, but there are hardly any apps utilizing the functionality right now.

We’ll let you know when Photosynth shows up in the Windows Phone Store.

Not shocking to me. One of the reasons why Microsoft will continue to stay behind in the smartphone business.

How good is this compared to Photosphere?
