HTC 8X and 8S set to debut in China by mid-December

HTC didn’t want to let Nokia steal all the good news out of China this week. Today HTC has announced the 8X and 8S will both arrive in China by mid-December. Variants of each model will arrive on China Unicom, China Telecom, and China Mobile. Pricing for the models is not yet known.

Coupled with Nokia’s news about the Lumia 920T heading to China this is a very good sign for the future of Windows Phone. China is an enormous mobile market, and being absent from it with WP7 clearly hurt sales. Hopefully this fresh new market will help Windows Phone see some good market share growth.

  • I always figured the HTC 8S would do well in emerging markets. The color schemes seem to mimic some of those waterproof Fujitsu Windows Phones we saw at CES last year.
