Gnomio Smart Watch for Windows Phone seeking funding

Crowd funding has been a great way to get small projects off the ground and in the past few years, more ambitious projects have surfaced. The Gnomio is one of these, as it is a smart watch for Windows Phone devices that will connect to your phone via Bluetooth. The watch is designed to work like the much missed notification center in Windows Phone, providing you with updates on your various apps, including:

  • Notification of incoming and missed calls
  • SMS and email notification
  • Facebook and Twitter messages
  • Calendar reminders, timer
  • Weather
  • The player controls
  • Reminders of low battery charge smartphone
  • Search feature phone

The Gnomio device will allow third party developers to create apps for it, which is always nice to see. The current campaign seeks $100,000 on IndieGoGo’s flexible funding campaign, meaning that even if the goal isn’t reached, the developers will get the money pledged, unlike Kickstarter. If you’re interested in supporting the project, a buy in of $81 will get you one Gnomio watch.

Wow, what a weird idea! Not necessarily a bad one, but definitely weird. Seems a bit superfluous to me, but what do I know; maybe it’ll do really well.

The watch looks cool, not sure about the actual user interface.

    This look promising.

I love smart watches, so the idea of a Windows Phone-specific one definitely hits home for me. I don’t really like the design of the Gnomio Fresh, though. It just looks a bit childish. But $100 for a Gnomio Strong seems like a very good deal.

Definitely agree with you there, Edgar. The black one is sleek and nice-looking.
