We’re chomping at the bit to get sales numbers for this first round of Windows Phone 8 devices, but context clues as to how well the ecosystem is doing keep pouring in. This time it comes in the form of an analyst statement that the Lumia 920 is the fourth most popular handset on AT&T’s network, behind the iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S3, and the Samsung Galaxy Note II. Once again, no official numbers are given in this information, but the fact that the Lumia 920 makes the list is definitely a good sign.
Things are a bit different for Verizon and T-Mobile customers, as no Windows Phone 8 devices topped their charts. This is understandable for Verizon since it has just now embraced the HTC 8X, but T-Mobile has always been supportive of the ecosystem. Perhaps when the Lumia 920 loses its exclusivity period on AT&T, we’ll see if it becomes more popular on other networks.
