We’re about three weeks away from CES 2013 which means the announcements for the show are going to start coming in. The first announcement goes to Huawei Senior VP Richard Yu, who has confirmed we will finally get to see the Ascend W1. Rumors of Huawei working on a WP8 device go all the way back to April, and we’ve seen many photos of the actual device.
The rumored specs for the Ascend are pretty good for a mid-range device. It is said to have a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4″ display, 5MP camera, and 2,000 mAh battery. Even though we will be seeing the device at CES, an American show, it’s highly unlikely we will ever see it on an American carrier. This phone is most likely destined for China.
WinSource will be at CES for all your Ascend W1 coverage, and much, much more.
