Stephen Elop says Nokia is “planning a lot of exciting things with Verizon”

Verizon customers have been dying to get their hands on a flagship Nokia Windows Phone device for a long time. So far the closest thing they have is the Lumia 822, an uglier variant of the Lumia 820. However HTC has been able to get the 8X on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. In a recent interview with CNET Stephen Elop said some promising things for Verizon customer.

Elop says that Nokia has rekindled their relationship with Verizon, and they are “planning a lot of exciting things with Verizon as well.” When CNET asked Elop whether that means a flagship phone he slyly repeated they are ”planning a lot of exciting things with Verizon as well.” Sounds like he is saving that announcement for another day.

Are there any Verizon customers still holding out for that flagship Nokia device?

Good. The 822 is a nice phone but the design is heinous.

I am a vzw customer waiting for a 9xx nokia phone. so disappointed when it went to at&t, hanging onto my upgrade as long as possible for a high end nokia phone. come on Verizon!

I personally really like the HTC 8X so I don’t mind, but it would be nice to have an option. But who knows, maybe something good is coming!
