WhatsApp now available for Windows Phone 8

One of the biggest complaints we’ve seen here at WinSource among Windows Phone 8 users is the lack of WhatsApp. The original app was available for Windows Phone 7, but the developers made the app unavailable for Windows Phone 8 while tweaks and compatibility issues were ironed out. WhatsApp is finally back in the stores for Windows Phone 8 users, so you can rest easy if you’ve been complaining that you can’t text your friends.

In other interesting news concerning the app, it looks like the developers won’t be supporting the BlackBerry 10 platform. CrackBerry contacted the developers to discern whether or not they would support the new platform and the answer that came back was a simpleĀ “we have no plans to support BlackBerry 10 at the moment, sorry.”

Ouch, BlackBerry.
