AMC Theaters brings Wallet and Lockscreen support to Windows Phone 8

If there’s one Windows Phone 8 feature that hasn’t seen much attention it’s Wallet. Ever since Microsoft talked about the Wallet Hub back in October we’ve barely heard a peep about it. Along with storing credit cards, Wallet also shows local deals that you can save and use at your favorite locations. One of the first apps to take advantage of this is AMC Theaters.

They have just put out a new (separate) version of their app for Windows Phone 8. This version has been completely built for WP8. The app is buttery smooth and fast, plus it supports high resolution screens, but that isn’t the best part. The app is a live app that can display photos from the latest movies on your lockscreen. The really cool thing about this app is the Wallet support. AMC Stubs are now available in the app when you login in to your account. You can see past purchases and even buy tickets. It ties right into the Wallet Hub so you can pay with the barcode in the theater. That’s a pretty nifty feature.

If you’re a frequent movie goer at AMC Theaters this is an app you might want to start using. Windows Phone 8 users can download the app for free below.

Will NFC features come to Wallet? I would like to be able to pay by tapping, like Google Wallet and all the other NFC payment services.
