Samsung ATIV Odyssey for Verizon specs leak, plants itself firmly in mid-range status

We haven’t heard much about the Samsung ATIV ¬†Odyseey since Microsoft mentioned it briefly back in October.¬†An image of the device was leaked that looked very mid-range in stature, but other than that the Odyssey has been a (very cool named) mystery. Until today.

The folks over at WPCentral got their hands on a data sheet from Verizon. It contains a bunch of specs we’ve been wondering about. Some notable features include a 4″ Super AMOLED display, 5MP camera (1.2MP back), 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2100mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB internal storage. Even though the specs don’t look half bad the Odyssey will likely be billed as a mid-range device. The 4″ display and 5MP camera are a dead giveaway.

The Samsung ATIV Odyssey might not be the most stunning or powerful device out there, but it should be an excellent phone for the budget buyer. We expect to get a closer look at this phone next week at CES.

Not too bad. I don’t know, Windows Phone has always been really smooth, even without the strongest of specs. I just wonder what the phone’s battery and resolution are like.

If the Lumia 620 and HTC 8S kick even the SGS3 in the toosh with a 1GHz processor, think of how great this will be for the budget range.

Just how Edgar said, All Windows phone have been smooth and slick even without having those dual-core processors. I think Microsoft made a huge mistake to be like Android and launch a whole plethora(means variety) of devices and it would be wrong to be like Apple and launch 1 a year. I think they should have launched 3 a year only and each one pertaining a specific skill that the others can’t have. One may have full-fletched GPS. One may have a epic voice assistant. One may have a mini fat guy that comes out and kills your enemies. Microsoft you failed the WP8 test but still nice devices.
