We’ve known about the pricing scheme for the Surface Pro for about a month now, but Microsoft has been pretty mum on the exact date we’ll see the Surface Pro debut outside of promising a January debut. CNET dug a bit further into the issue by calling several Microsoft retail stores and found that many expect to be selling the latest tablet by the end of this month.
For $899, consumers will get an Intel Core i5 processor and a 1080p display. The full version of Windows 8 will be available on the tablet instead of Windows RT. If the Surface Pro release schedule follows the same schedule that Microsoft followed for the release of the Surface RT, it’s likely we’ll see a pre-order period of about ten days before the tablet is due to be in consumer hands.
