Hands-on with the Samsung Series 7 Ultra & Chronos touchscreen Windows 8 notebooks [Video]

Yesterday Samsung showed off two previously announced Windows 8 notebooks: the Series 7 Chronos and Series 7 Ultra. We previously told you about these two notebooks, but yesterday we got a chance to look at them in person here at CES.

The Series 7 Ultra is a lightweight, portable notebook that meets the ultrabook requirements. It has a 13.3″ display with a touchscreen, Core i5 or i7 processor, and comes in a very sleek and thin body that weighs only 3.2 pounds. The touchscreen and touchpad both work great at navigating around the OS.

The Chronos is the beast. It has a 15.6 touchscreen display. It’s powered by a Core i7 processor and an AMD Radeon graphics chip. The Chronos is a beastly size, but it actually feels pretty light for what it is. You won’t be getting ultrabook weight, but compared to other notebooks in the class it feels very light.

Check out the videos on this page for a closer look at both the Chronos and the Ultra.

  • Not bad. I’ve always liked Samsung’s design sense when it comes to their laptops.
