LG may release a new Windows Phone 8 device in 2013

LG hasn’t been completely on board with Windows Phone since the start. They started with phones like the Quantum and Optimus 7, but have since abandoned the platform.  A new story out of the Korea Times says that LG is back and ready to release a new Windows Phone 8 device.

LG’s latests Android devices, the Nexus 4 and Optimus G, have received high praise from most people in the industry. The Optimus G especially has been heralded for it’s great display and performance. we would certainly love to see Windows Phone 8 software running on such a device. The quote from the Korean Times states:

“We will release quite a number of new Optimus devices this year and LG also has some new smartphones in the works, that will run Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8.’’

Would you be interested in a LG Windows Phone 8 device?

  • If it’s at the quality level of the OptimusG and Nexus4? Oh hell yeah, I’d be interested. Both of those are handsets I have to keep myself from drooling over when I see someone whip them out. Hopefully, if they do jump into the WP8 game, it’s with that level of style and they don’t try to copy Nokia as much as HTC did with their design choices.

LG is doing much better now than they were in the past. I mean the Nexus 4, Optimus G and others are very well-built devices. Very aesthetically pleasing, too. I would go for one.

The Optimus G is Consumer Reports’ favorite phone, actually.

    LG has my attention. :)
