Microsoft Surface Pro will be available February 9th in the US and Canada

Microsoft has finally named a date for the launch of Surface Pro. They originally planned to launch the device in January, but it looks like they will miss it by just a few days. Surface Pro will launch on February 9th in the U.S. and Canada. International users will unfortunately have to wait.

Surface Pro is the second version to Microsoft popular Windows tablet. The current version runs Windows RT, a lightweight version of Windows 8. Surface Pro will run full Windows 8. This means you won’t be constricted to just apps from the Windows Store. Surface pro will be able to run full desktop applications. Surface Pro also differs from the current model by having an HD display and pen support. Along with the keyboard covers this should make Surface Pro perfect for, well, pros. Surface Pro pricing will start at $899 for a 64GB model with no keyboard cover.

Mark your calendars.

Man. I really want one, but the more I think about it, the more I realize I don’t really need one. If it was cheaper, probably. But for now I’ll stick with my laptop, which is very portable as well.

  • Why is this so expensive when you can get a Samsung ATIV for $600? Either way, I prefer this.
