As the launch of Surface Pro looms Surface RT has a few problems to iron out. An update earlier this month introduced a bug that was restricting users access to the Windows Store. The bug would cause the Store not to load properly, and downloading app updates would not complete. Microsoft is aware of the problems and working on a fix.
Microsoft released the following statement:
“Some Windows RT customers who attempted to apply January’s bulletins had issues installing updates. Specifically, impacted Windows RT devices went into connected standby mode during the download of updates from Windows Update, causing the connection to be disrupted. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and are working to correct the issue; we expect to have a fix in place in the first week of February”.
This update will be for all Windows RT devices, though Surface probably makes up about 99% of RT devices. Look for this fix to come around early next month.
