Lumia 920 vs HTC 8X vs ATIV S vs Blackberry Z10

Blackberry has just announced their new flagship phone for the new Blackberry 10 OS. Whenever a new phone comes out on a competitor’s platform we like to measure it up against the best Windows Phone has to offer. Today that is the Lumia 920, HTC 8X, and ATIV S. Check out the chart above to see how the Z10 stacks up against the WP8 big dogs. On specs alone all four are very similar, but we’ll have to see how the OS and ecosystem compete with Windows.

We’re getting to a point in mobile technology where specs have platued. All four of the devices above have HD displays, dual-core processors, 8MP cameras, and front facing cameras. It wasn’t too long ago that only Android phones were pushing these incredible specs. With such a level playing field on hardware it really is the OS that has to make or break the experience. The question now will be what OS will take over third place? Windows Phone just recently surpassed Blackberry, but will BB 10 be enough to them to surge back into 3rd?

I personally want to learn some more about BB10. I saw a demo video of the OS in use and a lot of the features and software design struck me as useful and interesting.

The stats look pretty good, but I can’t wait to see what users think when they get their hands on it. I like the more gesture based direction they are going in though… that seems to be the big thing with Ubuntu and Firefox mobile OS’s both heading that direction.

720p displays are SO LAST YEAR! lol

And dual-core processors are so 2 years ago!

In all seriousness, though. I think I will test out BB10. I want to see how hardware works with software, as well as other factors that make specs less important than they seem.

I’m very interested in a business phone / personal phone with a complete partition between the two.

Switch between business and personal mode?

    Indeed.!
