Speaktoit virtual assistant now available for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8/RT

With over six million users Speaktoit has been a very popular virtual assistant app for Android since 2011. Unlike most apps that try to replicate Apple’s Siri, Speaktoit puts a face to the virtual voice you hear. It tries  to be the most personal and engaging virtual assistant on the market. Now they are taking that goal and their success on Android to the Windows ecosystem. The app was recently launched on Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8/RT.

As mentioned above, the first thing you will notice with Speaktoit is the avatar that represents the virtual assistant. There are several different avatars to choose from. To use the app just press the microphone and start talking. Everything you say is shown in a conversation view.  Some responses will show detailed information in the conversation view. For example, if you ask about restaurants nearby it will show you Yelp ratings for the places nearby. Speaktoit has integration with other web services too, such as like Google, Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Evernote, TripAdvisor, Wikipedia, and more. There is a lot that Speaktoit can do. Taking notes, sending/reading texts, setting alarms, playing music, giving calendar reminders, telling jokes, map searching, reading the news, and updating social media are just a few of the things.

Speaktoit is free for both Windows Phone and Windows 8/RT. Download it below and start making your phone work for you!
