Skype for Windows 8 updated to finally support file transfer

The Skype app for Windows 8 has been notoriously lack luster since launch. It has been slowly updated, but it still misses many of the features found in the desktop app. In the latest update Skype has finally added the ability to send andĀ receiveĀ files and photos. This has been a long awaited feature for Skype users. Skype is great for collaborating, but not being able to share files makes that more difficult.

The Skype app for Windows 8 has come a long way since launch, but it still has a long way to go. One feature that I’m personally waiting for is notifications for group chats, and for notifications overall to get better. A lot of times the notifications are late and I completely miss them. It makes no sense for group notifications not to show up on the live tile. Check out the Skype update below.

  • I have Nokia Lumia 620 (windows 8) mobile, for SKYPE WIndows 8 does not support of sending files.
