Microsoft working on a fix for Windows Phone 7.8 live tile issues

When Windows Phone 7.8 finally came out it was met with a lot of complaints. The biggest disappointment has been the live tiles for many apps simply not working. As you would expect, this is a big deal for a lot of users. Live tiles are an essential part of the OS. If they don’t work, Windows Phone doesn’t work. Last week Microsoft confirmed that they were aware of the problem, but nothing was said about a fix.

Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore says the company has “identified a minor issue where some 7.8 tiles stop updating and we are working on a fix now.” The Windows Phone 7.8 update has been stopped since the problem was identified, but there are still a lot of users that already received it. We hope for their sake that the problem is indeed “minor” and easy to fix. We will of course let you know when a fix is being delivered.
