Windows Store now holds over 50,000 apps

The Windows Store that comes with Windows 8 and RT devices has been met with mixed emotions. Some love it, others hate it. Some say it has a lot of quality apps, others say it doesn’t have enough. The quantity argument might not work anymore if the latest report on Windows Store app numbers is correct.

Metro Store Scanner has reported that the Windows Store has over 50,000 apps. The Windows Store passed the Mac App store way back in November, but it is still a long way from passing the App Store. Unlike the Mac App Store the Windows Store is run on tablets, not just PCs. Apple’s tablet store has well over 300,000 apps available. So while Microsoft has a nice start for PCs, there is still much work to be done for tablets.

Are you happy with the Windows Store? Do you even use it?

That is nice. I haven’t owned a Windows computer in a while, but I would totally use it. There is nothing like having a single store to get your programs from.
