It’s been a long time coming, but we finally have some concrete news about Windows Phone 8 on Sprint. And by “concrete” we mean more info from inside sources. The Verge is reporting that Sprint will carry the HTC Tiara and Samsung ATIV S this summer. The Tiara is an unannounced phone that we first heard about back in February. It has mid-range specs such as 4.3″ display, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, and 8MP camera. It’s amazing that those specs are considered “mid-range” nowadays. The Tiara was also listed as running Windows Phone 8 GDR2, which we talked about this morning.
The Samsung ATIV S is of course not new. It has been around since the launch of Windows Phone 8, but has not been available on any U.S. carriers. The ATIV S has a 4.8″ display, 1.5GHz dual-core display, 8MP camera, and 2300mAh battery. Sprint will only alter the body of the phone slightly, but everything else will be the same. The Tiara and ATIV S will join the HTC Arrive as Sprint’s only Windows Phones. If anyone out there is still using the Arrive this is sure to be great news. Look out for these devices this summer.
