New look at the Nokia Lumia 521 with T-Mobile branding

lumia 521

Back in February Nokia announced the Lumia 520, a low-end phone being billed as the “cheapest Lumia yet.” it was also announced that the 520 would be coming to T-Mobile as the Lumia 521. Today we have our first look at the 521 with its newly donned Magenta branding. Besides the new logo this is the exact same phone that we saw at MWC. We have to admit the white body and pink tile look is an eye catcher, but what make this phone tick?

The Lumia 521 will have a 4-inch IPS LCD display at 480×800 resolution, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of storage, microSD card slot, 5MP camera, and a 1430mAh battery. Definitely low-end specs, but very respectable for such a cheap phone. The 520 will make for an excellent device with T-Mobile’s new UNcarrier strategy. The 521 will cost around $240 straight up. That is cheaper than some phones cost with a new two-year contract. It is also very possible that the 521 could support T-Mobile’s new LTE network. Check out our hands-on video with the 520 at MWC to get a feel for this device.
