Skype for Windows 8 updated to allow blocking contacts

Skype 8

Microsoft and Skype have once again updated the app for Windows 8 and RT devices. The Skype app for Windows 8 has been received with mixed reactions. It still doesn’t have many of the features you will find on the desktop version, but it is getting better. This next update keeps the improvements coming.

The most notable feature is the ability to block contacts. Now you won’t have to worry about pesky spam accounts bothering you. They also fixed an issue with video being displayed after changing camera, Skype crashing after clicking the “info” option, and not being able to switch between calls on hold. These are all good fixes, but we’re still waiting for more. The biggest oversight that still exists is no live tile or toast notifications for group chats. If you use Skype for Windows 8 you will want to get this update.
