Fitbit Tracker is a beautiful new app designed for Windows Phone 8

Fitbit Tracker

Personal health and fitness tracking devices have become very popular in the last few years. One of the pioneers of this new type of gadget is Fitbit, and just a couple of days ago their new Flex device went on sale. Fitbit offers Android and iOS apps, but unfortunately no Windows Phone app. Luckily 3rd-party developers have stepped up.

There are a few decent Fitbit apps available in the Store, but none of them were built for Windows Phone 8. Developer Shane Chism noticed this and decided to do something about it. The result is Fitbit Tracker, the first Fitbit app to be designed from the ground up for Windows Phone 8. It’s a beautiful app that displays all your synced Fitbit information by using the official Fitbit API.

Shane is calling this first release a public beta. You can share your thoughts on the app in this Reddit thread. Currently you can view how you’re measuring up to your daily goals, record daily weigh-ins and activities, and pin your progress percentage to the Start screen. In the future he hopes to add even more features. If you have a Fitbit, or plan on getting one, this is a must-have app. It is available for free on Windows Phone 8 devices.
