Nokia and Verizon officially announced the Lumia 928 this morning, but they didn’t reveal the full specs or pricing. It looks like they just wanted to wait a little but longer, because now we have both. As expected the specs are similar to the Lumia 920, and the price is very competitive.
The Lumia 928 is just slightly taller and thinner than the Lumia 920, but considerably lighter. They have the same 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ display and same 1280×768 resolution, but for some reason the 928 has slightly better pixel density. They are powered by the same 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, same 2000mAh battery, and same 1GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
Where the two devices differ is the camera. They both have the same 8.7MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens, but the 928 has a new xenon flash. This helps it take even better low-light photos than the already very good Lumia 920. Simply put, the Lumia 928 has the best camera on a smartphone.
Verizon has announced that the Lumia 928 will be available on May 16th, as already revealed, and cost just $99 with a two-year contract. We’ve seen Nokia hit that awesome price point with other high-end smartphones, and it really sweetens the deal. Will we see lines on May 16th?
