Windows Phone Sync app for PC updated with improvements and iTunes podcast support

The Windows Phone app for PCs has been a point of contention among Windows Phone users. The app replaces the Zune software that was used with WP7. Many users wish that Microsoft would go back to Zune, but that’s not happening. Today they released a nice update that has some big improvements.

The headlining feature is support for iTunes podcasts. Included in the preview versions of the app, iTunes podcast support now syncs easily across devices. The iTunes podcast library is very large, so this is a nice feature. Other improvements include simplified updates, the ability to sync files from any folder on your PC, and a boat load of bug fixes. The app is available for Windows 8, Windows 7, and Mac.

Microsoft should update the Zune software to Xbox Media Desktop or something, there’s no need to seperate these apps.
