Samsung has just announced a tablet that runs both Windows 8 and Android. It has a crazy hinge that allows for different modes of use. The ATIV Q is being billed as “a truly convertible device” with the power to enjoy both Windows and Android. The Q allows users to enjoy Android apps on Windows. It has both Windows 8 and Android 4.2.2 installed. You get access to Google Play, and the ability to transfer files and share folders with Windows.

The Q sports a crazy new hinge that allows for four modes. You can lay the display flat for tablet mode, raise it like a laptop, float it for viewing, or flip it to stand upright. The display is one of the world’s highest resolutions at 3200×1800. Windows 8 has never looked better. Samsung has not released pricing or release date info at this time.

the Q tablet looks to be the next crazy must-have device move over Ipad and NEXUS

  • This is nice, this is more of what we need, and really will make people wonder why Apple doesn’t have a OSX/iOS convertible. This is going to push systems to really have the best of everything, and we consumers will benefit.

I love the idea of this. We have been needing hybrids like this for a while. I might get it, depending on the price.
