Today is an awesome day for app releases on Windows platforms. First we’ll start with a couple new apps for Windows Phone 8. The popular messaging service, Voxer, has finally left private beta and is now available in the Store. Keek, a video sharing service, has also launched a Windows Phone app. Let’s take a look.
The easiest way to explain Voxer is a walkie talkie with voicemail. You can record short snippets of audio and send them to your friends that use Voxer. Your friends can listen as you are talking, or play it back later. The Windows Phone app is exceptionally fast at doing this. Since it is a messaging app you can also send text and photos, and it all appears in one conversation thread. Voxer is available on Windows Phone 8 devices for free.
The easiest way to describe Keek is Vine before Vine existed. Services like Vine and Instagram video are more about short video clips, but Keek allows users to easily share larger videos. The service has been around on other platforms for a while, so we’re happy to get it. You can comment and like other videos, and subscribe to your favorite people. If you’re looking for an easy way to share videos Keek is a nice app. It’s available on Windows Phone 8 devices for free.
