Screenshots of Windows Phone 8 GDR3 and Nokia Bittersweet Shimmer leak

Over the weekend some more screenshots from Windows Phone 8 GDR3 and Nokia’s Bittersweet Shimmer update leaked to the interwebs.  These updates are said to add some major new features, unlike the minimal updates we’ve received so far this year. Earlier today we wrote about the Notification Center leak, and now we have these screenshots too. Let us begin.

First of all, like Amber was Nokia’s version of GDR2, Bittersweet Shimmer is their version of GDR3. The first batch of screenshots a redesigned multitasking screen. The name of the app is listed below the preview with a tiny icon, and there is an (X) to close the app. Many people have requested this feature. We can also see the new screen rotation setting.

Next up is a new Driving Mode feature. This will enable users to set their phone to ignore calls andtexts while driving. You can set it up to start when a bluetooth device is connected. We also hope it can sense when you are driving to auto enable the feature. Additional features not shown in screenshots include custom sounds for notifications, and a bunch of improvements for Bluetooth devices.
