Microsoft offering $200 to trade-in your old iPad

ipad trade in

Microsoft has been taking on the iPad in their latest Windows 8 commercials, but not it looks like they are taking the battle to the next level. From now until October 27th you can trade-in your old iPad 2, 3, or 4 for a whopping $200 to use at Microsoft retail stores. So what can you buy with $200?

  • Microsoft Surface RT for $150
  • Microsoft Surface Pro for $599
  • Nokia Lumia 1020 for $0
  • Lenovo ThinkPad 2 for $299
  • Nokia Lumia 925 for $0

There are some pretty sweet deals in that list, and a bunch of others at your local Microsoft Store. Getting a Surface RT for just $150 is an especially awesome deal, as well as a free Lumia 1020. It really just depends on what your local store has on sale. They may even let you use it on a pre-order for the Xbox One.

Microsoft is trying to convince people that Windows 8 tablets are better than iPads. Promotions like this will help convince people to try something new, like a Surface tablet. Do any of our readers have old iPads lying around? If you do it could mean a shiny new toy from Microsoft.

I don’t know. But, if I had an eligible iPad device I’d probably take advantage of this. After playing with both RT and the real Windows 8 for quite a while, iOS and Android are not looking attractive to me anymore.
