Nokia’s Sirius Windows RT tablet will be called “Lumia 2520” at launch

The Nokia tablet has been long-rumored, but one thing we’ve never heard much about is how Nokia will name it. For their Windows Phone they have created the “Lumia” brand, but what will they use for tablets? According to @evleaks they will continue to use the Lumia name for more than just phones (until Microsoft steps in).

Over the weekend @evleaks Tweeted about Nokia’s “Sirius” tablet. Apparently the device will be called “Lumia 2520” at launch. The device itself is rumored to have a 10-inch display, quad-core processor, and run Windows RT. October 22nd is the alleged announce date.

Nokia’s numbered naming scheme has got a bit out of hand lately. Phones like the Lumia 1020 and 1520 are starting to get into the four digit territory, which will now also be occupied by tablets. We love the Lumia name, but something else needs to go along with it besides a string of numbers. It sounds like Microsoft won’t keep up this trend, but hopefully they don’t ruin the names completely.
