Nokia World is set to kick off in less than 16 hours, and one of the things we expect to see is the Bittersweet Shimmer update. This update is Nokia’s version of GDR3 or “Update 3” that was released to devs last week. “Bittersweet Shimmer” is quite the mouthful (and it’s no picnic to type out either), thankfully it looks like Nokia is switching to something more simple.
According to The Verge Nokia is renaming the update to “Lumia Black.” Nokia has adopted an alphabetical color naming scheme started with “Amber,” and now Black will follow that. The update itself includes the things we saw in GDR3, like 1080p displays and quad-core processors, plus some new Nokia features like customizable Glance Screen colors. We’ll hear more about it tomorrow. Stay tuned!
