Nokia Lumia 1520 officially announced, the biggest and best Windows Phone ever

It’s been a long time coming. After months of leaks and rumors the Nokia Lumia 1520 has finally been officially announced. It’s pretty much the same device we’ve been expecting for these last couple months, and it is every bit as big as we thought. Let’s take a look at the phone we’ve all been waiting for.

  • 6-inch 1080p display
  • Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor
  • 20MP PureView camera
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 16GB/32GB of storage
  • 3,400 mAh battery
  • Black, White, Red, and Yellow
  • Windows Phone 8 GDR3 “Lumia Black”

None of those specs are surprising to anyone that has been following along. The Lumia 1520 is the first Windows Phone device to step into the “phablet” category. It’s also the first Windows Phone device with a 1080p display and quad-core processor. People have been clamoring for a Windows Phone with giant specs, and now it is finally here. $749 early next year. It will be available exclusively on AT&T.

Windows phone taking a step in the right direction with these new Nokia devices. Still need to expand on the app store. I would also like to see a bit more customization with the tiles and home screen. This is a classic tortis vs the hare where windows phone is the tortis.
