Another month is in the books, and along with it came some new apps. You may have missed a few of them, but don’t worry, we have you covered. Below is our usual monthly round-up of the top Windows Phone apps and games to launch this month. We have everything from LEGO games to document scanners, and even our official app! October was great, but November could be even better. Check it out!
CamScanner is a handy app that will replace your clunky old document scanner. Simply use the camera to take a photo of the document you’d like to keep and CamScanner will turn it into a readable document. Bills, invoices, contracts, and business cards are some of the things you can scan.
Flux has been around on Windows Phone for a long time, but now it works with Feedly. The best thing about Flux is simplicity. It’s easy to switch between subscriptions, folders, and articles by just swiping through the pivots. There are also a number of gestures that can be set up, such as double-tap to mark read/unread.
If you’re a AT&T U-Verse, Mediacom or Verizon FiOS customer you can now watch all episodes of your favorite FOX TV show with the FOX NOW app. If you aren’t a subscriber to any of those services you can still watch a few episodes from FOX show. If you watch FOX a lot you need this app.
Nokia released a new app called Glace Background Beta. This app works in combination with the existing Glance scree feature found on newer Nokia Lumia phones. Glance screen allows users to display the time and certain notifications on the screen while the phone is idle. Glance Background takes this to the next level and adds a photo.
HERE Explore is Nokia’s version of the built-in Local Scout app that works with Bing Search. The app gives you local recommendations for places to visit, eat, and more. Just open it up and see everywhere around you organized into an easy to view list, or with a virtual reality 3D display.
InNote is a handwriting note taker featuring a natural digital ink, a full set of tools and a beautiful UI. It is the easiest finger writing app for taking notes, writing memos and making annotations. When you are at brainstorms, meetings or need a shopping list and to do list, InNote is here to help.
Those evil brains have landed on the Windows Phone and the Heroes are calling upon you to stop them destroying Makuhero City! See how many brains you can fight off before your time runs out in this play-before-you-pay version of LEGO Hero Factory Brain Attack. It’s LEGO’s on your phone. Enough said.
The popular browser on Android has finally made its way to Windows Phone. Maxthon is one of the fastest 3rd-party browsers we’ve used. It has a great UI, easy to use tabbed browsing, and it uses gestures that feel native to Windows Phone. Did we mention it’s fast?
Nokia Camera takes the best features from Smart Cam and Pro Cam and puts them all into one experience. This is much more useful than having separate apps. Now you can very easily switch between Pro and Smart features. Set Nokia Camera as the app to open with the hardware camera button and you can quickly toggle between the two when taking a photo.
phriz.be is a mobile sharing platform that allows you to discover other users nearby and share photos, including Hi-Res photos taken with your Nokia Lumia 1020. With phriz.be you can share seamlessly with users on all major platforms, as well as email addresses.
Get ready for this epic adventure! Step into your cart and begin this exploring frenzy! Accelerate through these insanely fast rails while tilting and swiping to avoid the obstacles. Your job is to collect precious stones, so get those gold nuggets and gems!
Rdio is not a new app, but it might as well be. The latest update breathes life into this aging app. A couple of the new features include Facebook login and the ability to sign out. The main focus on this update was to make the app stable for Windows Phone 8. It is now a solid app.
Smart Resize isn’t your average image resizing app. Our content-aware scale algorithm differentiates between the less important and more important parts of the image, cutting out the background first and leaving the main subjects intact.
Sophie Lens works beautifully on your device using the Windows Phone 8 lens extensibility to help you preserve the special moments in life. Users will enjoy a great photo capturing experience with the fast live preview filters and sleek, user-friendly design.
The official WinSource app was finally updated this month. YouTube videos can now be played directly in the app. Other features include sortable news, a video page, live tile for new articles, comment viewing, and more. Check it out if you are a regular reader of our site!
