Microsoft ending Xbox Video support for Windows Phone 7 devices


It’s becoming even harder to use a device with Windows Phone 7. Microsoft has announced that they will be ending Xbox Video support for Windows Phone 7 devices in February. This will also affect anyone still using Zune PC software and Zune devices. The amount of people who will be affected by this isn’t huge, but it may be annoying to some.

Once February comes around anything that you previously purchased from Xbox Video will no longer be able to play on the aforementioned devices. The good news is that this update will allow Microsoft to more quickly add the highest quality video content since they don’t have to worry about old devices.

Microsoft points out that Xbox Video will still be accessible on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, and at If you want to have access on your phone it may be time to upgrade. Does anyone use Xbox Video often? I can’t say I have ever used it.
