Have fun with finger in Papyrus for Windows Phone

Papyrus screens

Back at Nokia World there were several apps announced to be coming to Windows Phone. Most of them have already been released, but a few are still trickling in. Today Papyrus has arrived in the Windows Phone Store. This app is for taking notes, but it’s not your usual note taking app.

Most note taking apps rely on text input, and some will allow you to also draw. Papyrus is the opposite. With this app they want you to use your finger to draw, put it also works with a passive stylus. This works particularly well on large screened devices like the Lumia 1520. Papyrus is much more than just an app for drawing. This is a serious productivity tool. Other features include:

  • Take notes with your finger or passive stylus
  • Vector graphics engine
  • Undo and redo actions
  • Use the selection tool to select, move, and resize items
  • Change the color and weight of selected items
  • Cut, copy, and paste items between notes and pages
  • Erase entire strokes with the stroke eraser
  • Multiple paper types and sizes, including infinite page size
  • Two finger scroll and pinch-to-zoom
  • Organize notes within notebooks
  • Sort notes and notebooks
  • Image import, crop, and resize
  • Pin notes to Start screen for quick access

Windows Phone 8 users can download Papyrus below for free. This is a very useful app for anyone that prefers to take notes the original way. Visual learners will find this particularly handy. Enjoy!
