Microsoft makes it even easier for Gmail user to switch to Outlook.com with new import tool

Outlook

Microsoft is making it easier than ever to start using Outlook.com. Today they published a blog post outlining how Gmail users can easily import their mail to Outlook. This is thanks to the recent addition of IMAP support for Outlook.com. The tool also allows Outlook users to access Gmail contacts and Google Talk with the Outlook.com webapp.

When you import your mail from Gmail it will start with the most recent emails. After that you will see a prompt asking if you want to download the rest. Microsoft has been making a big push to get people to switch from Google services, and this is yet another step. If you’re not getting Scroogled maybe you will switch just for the nice design of Outlook.com.

Do you use Outlook.com or Gmail? Why?
