Cal is a beautifully minimal calendar app for Windows Phone

The stock Windows Phone calendar app leaves a lot to be desired, especially if you are a Google Calendar user. There are a few nice replacements available in the Store, but we can always use more. Cal is the latest attempt at a beautifully minimal and powerful calendar app for Windows Phone users. Does it succeed?

Cal is very stunning to look at, both in-app and outside with the live tiles. The stock Windows Phone app is minimal too, but Cal is minimal and useful. Underneath the beauty is some great features for power users, especially those of us that use Google Calendar. Check out the list of features below.

  • Outlook/Live/Hotmail calendar support
  • Google calendar support
  • Facebook birthdays and events support
  • Customizable live tile
  • Month/week view

The live tile shows up to three events at once and can be fully customized with colors, photos, and the information you want to see. The default view can be set to week or month, but you can easily switch back and forth with the icon in the top right corner. Double-tapping on a day will take you to the event creation page. Cal is available for $1.99 or free trial. If you’ve been looking for a decent calendar app this one is worth a try.
