Asus Transformer Book Duet switches between Windows and Android instantly

As expected, Intel has convinced more OEMs to put Android and Windows on the same device. TheĀ Asus Transformer Book Duet is the latest attempt to merge these two drastically different OS’ into one attractive device. Will this device succeed where many others have failed? Only time will tell, but for not let’s check out this transformer.

First, the OS’. On the Windows side we have 8.1, the latest version of Microsoft’s latest Windows. On the Android side we have 4.1 Jelly Bean which is a couple of versions behind the latest Android phones. Switching between the two OS’ is done with a single button, and Asus claims it’s instantaneous. This will make using both OS’ more attractive, but you still need to figure out a reason for using both.

The specs are pretty standard for an ultrabook. The display is 13.3-inches at 1920×1080 resolution. It’s powered by an Intel Core i7 processor and Intel GPU. it has 4GB of memory, 128GB of storage, Bluetooth 4.0, and comes in black or silver. The Duet will launch some time this year for $599. The only question is does anyone want this?
