Windows Phone might not be a huge seller here in the U.S., but in other countries it’s much more popular. We’ve talked about Windows Phone even surpassing the iPhone in some countries. Now it looks like Windows Phone is passing the iPhone in more than just a few random countries.

Microsoft’s director of communications, Christopher Flores, told TechRadar that Windows Phone is outselling the iPhone in 24 markets and was second place in 14 others.┬áBack in March Windows Phone was outselling the iPhone in only 7 markets. That is significant improvement in just nine months. The reason for this big growth is most likely low-end phones like the Lumia 520 in countries without subsidies.

Time and time again the statistics have shown that Windows Phone is the fastest growing mobile OS. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.
