One thing that Windows Phone users always seem to worry about is whether or not their phone will get updated. The WP7 to WP8 transition made a lot of users hesitant to buy into Windows Phone. The good news is that Windows Phone 8 has been built to be updated for years to come. Microsoft has confirmed that the next big update, Windows Phone 8.1, will indeed be available to WP8 users.

Windows Phone director of public relations Greg Sullivan says “We will not have the same experience as we had when Windows Phone 7 was upgraded to Windows Phone 8.” We expected this all along, but it is nice to hear confirmation from Microsoft. Everyone can now rest easy knowing their phone will get the latest and greatest. Windows Phone 8.1 is set to be the biggest update the platform has ever seen. We can’t wait.
