Samsung “Huron” Windows Phone pictured in first leaked image

Just yesterday we were talking about Samsung’s next Windows Phone device, codenamed “Huron,” heading to Verizon. ¬†We still don’t know much about the device, but today we can finally see it in a new leaked image from @evleaks. In typical Samsung fashion it looks just like their previous models of the ATIV S and Galaxy S line. Not much imagination here.

The device is said to run Windows Phone 8.1. Some publications have pointed out that this device appears to be without capacitive search and back buttons, which would mean it has virtual buttons. That could very well be true, but on the ATIV S the buttons disappeared when not active. Plus, it would be weird to make space for a physical Start button and then take up more screen space with virtual buttons.

Other rumored specs for the Huron include a 5-inch 1080p display, LTE, Bluetooth, and not much else. It appears to be destined for Verizon, but anyone that has been following the Lumia Icon knows just how long it takes for devices to launch on Big Red. We’ll keep you posted.

My guess is that both phones will be released in March – which is a bummer, because I want the ICON tomorrow.
