Windows Phone 8.1 SDK features shown on video

8.1 emulator

Over the last few days we have seen dozens of screenshots from the Windows Phone 8.1 SDK. Screenshots can only show so much, which is why we mocked-up a few of them on a real device. WinBeta has taken that idea even further. They were lucky enough to get access to the SDK and show it off on video with the Windows Phone emulator. This is the first time we can see Windows Phone 8.1 in action.

Can we learn anything from this video? Not really. This just confirms that everything we’ve seen in the screenshots is indeed working. It also confirms that Microsoft has left out things like Cortana and Action Center. When he tries to click the Search button nothing happens. A lot of the pre-installed Bing apps don’t work either, which leads us to believe they rely on Cortana too.

Check out the video above and be sure to check out all of our previous coverage of Windows Phone 8.1. Microsoft is expected to officially show off 8.1 in April, but until then we will keep you posted on everything that comes out.
