Nokia Treasure Tag announced, helps you find stuff for $30

Nokia-Treasure-Tag-feat

After initially popping up way back in July of 2013, the Nokia Treasure Tag is finally official. This neat little accessory uses Bluetooth 4.0 LE to connect to your phone to do some handy things. The Treasure Tag can be used to locate things on a map or tell you when you left something behind. It will be available in April for $29.90.

How Does It Work?

Treasure Tag works with a companion app for Windows Phone. You can use NFC or Bluetooth to pair the Tag up to your phone. Once the Tag is paired with your phone you can decide what to do with it. There are a couple different things you can do.

  1. The Treasure Tag can be used to make sure you don’t leave anything behind. You can attach it to your keys and set it up so when you leave the Tag’s range it emits a noise and sends a notification to your phone. If you’re too far away to hear it you can use HERE Maps to see exactly where it is.
  2. The mapping feature also makes it perfect for finding things that you don’t need to keep on you at all times. For example, you could put a Tag in your car so it’s easy to find where you parked on a map. Just make sure to turn off the notification sounds so it’s not going off when you leave your car.

The treasure Tag will come in four colors: cyan, yellow, white, and black. It will go on sale in April around the world for $29.90 (€24,90). Nokia will also be releasing apps for Android and iOS to work with Treasure Tag. Will you be picking one of these up?
