Official Starbucks app for Windows Phone may be in the works

One of the few remaining major apps that is missing is the official Starbucks app. Starbucks oddly has official Windows Phone apps available in Mexico and Russia, but not here in their home country of America.  Today on Twitter the official @MyStarbucksIdea account replied to an inquisitive Windows Phone user with some promising news.

My Starbucks Idea is a site where users can make suggestions for Starbucks. A Twitter user asked about plans for an official Windows Phone app and received the response “the team is working on something for this. Stay tuned.” The official Starbucks apps on Android and iOS are invaluable to frequent coffee shop-goers. You can store gift cards and even pay with your phone. It’s very neat.

This tweet is anything but a confirmation, but it is promising nonetheless. With the launch of Windows Phone 8.1 just around the corner we can’t help but wonder if they will time it for that. It would be good to have some key app releases for the big announcement. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Thanks Mike and Nik!

I use STARBUX CARD to manage both my gold cards and I can pay using my Lumia 1520 with either card. I may stick with it even after the official app arrives.

you mean to say Starbucks would rather do business in Russia and Mexico? Is that why we can’t get the Windows app here in the U.S.? Maybe we should kick Starbucks out of this country if that’s the case, or at least tax the s%^t out of them.
