The season of madness is upon us. Later tonight the NCAA college basketball tournament, a.k.a. March Madness, will officially begin. This is a crazy fun and hectic time of year for college basketball fans. Numerous games are being played at the same time and it can be hard to keep track of who’s winning and who’s being upset. Smartphones have made tracking these games much easier. This is our guide for the best apps to keep the madness under control.

1. NCAA March Madness Live

There is no better way to experience March Madness than to watch the games live. The games are televised on CBS, TBS, TNT, and TruTV, but if you are stuck at the office all day you probably won’t be able to sit in front of a TV. With this app you can watch all the games on CBS for free, and the other games if you have a cable subscription. On top of that you get alerts for your teams and scores and stats from all the games and players.

2. ESPN ScoreCenter

If you don’t care about watching the games live, but just want to check up on scores and stats, ESPN ScoreCenter is a great app. There is a special section called NCAA Tournament for tracking all the games during March Madness. Plus, if you tell ESPN your favorite team you can get alerts from the games. If you can’t watch a game live this is a nice way to keep up.

3. MobileMadness

The most important part of March Madness might be the brackets. People all across the country will be filling out brackets and joining pools with their friends to hopefully win some money. Back in the day we all had to print the brackets out on paper and write our picks. With smartphones we can do it all in apps and keep our brackets with us at all times. Not to mention it’s a lot easier to keep track of who has won when the app does it for you.

To bad the NCAA March Madness has bugs, you can’t fill out your bracket using it. Hopefully that is fixed ASAP!
